With over 700 appraisers covering the entire United States, SCS offers outstanding coverage with limited mileage requests. In fact, on average, SCS requests mileage on less than 5% of our claims, while the industry average is between 16% to 23%. We eliminate mileage fees whenever and wherever possible.
Whenever an appraiser requests mileage for a remote assignment, we ask them to prorate their charge with other claims in the area. Our Management Team routinely reviews all mileage requests. If we find that a particular remote area has sustained volume, we do all in our power to locate new potential appraiser resources and/or negotiate with the nearest appraiser in an effort to reduce the mileage charges
